Sonic never really knew his parents. When he was born, Dr. “Eggman” Robotnik took them away to turn them into androids under his command, which was his big project at that time. He apparently didn’t think to bring Sonic along, considering he was just a baby, but not finishing him off there was his mistake. Much like Voldemort. |D Anyway, Sonic’s uncle, Chuck (everyone just calls him Uncle Chuck), found him and decided to take care of him. So, Sonic grew up to be a teenager under Uncle Chuck’s watchful eye.

Now, straying from the TV series and going on to the games. Sonic recently came to live in Station Square to live by himself (Chuck was still alive, Sonic just wanted to be an independent teen), a large city with many attractions. One day, he decided to take the train to Mystic Ruins, a mysterious land where archaeologists usually go for exploration. He went down to the forest there, where one could easily get lost, and found a lost little fox who had been picked on too much, for his ears were drooping and his two, yes, two tails were dragging. Well, he didn’t quite find him. More like he raced by him without noticing him, and the fox followed after him, impressed and awed by his speed.

The two met, and Sonic renamed him to “Tails”, which stuck. After this, they became inseparable friends who went through all kinds of adventures together. Usually, it was Sonic who did everything while Tails followed along, often using his genius skills to build an airplane or something to help Sonic along the way. The hedgehog mostly relied on his speed, though, and fighting skills that he picked up along the way.

At the end of one of his adventures, Sonic, wanting to show off, turned into his super form, which can only be obtained through the Chaos Emeralds (which I’ll explain later). While flying around like this, though, he collided into a red echidna, who had been gliding around, and dropped the Chaos Emeralds he was holding. The echidna, who was named Knuckles, probably mistook the emeralds for pieces of his Master Emerald (or was being manipulated by Eggman… again), and so, he took the Emeralds and ran off. Knowing how powerful the Emeralds can be, Sonic chased after him. This started a series of meetings between the two that ended up in a fight. Turns out, Knuckles thought that Sonic was out to steal the Master Emerald, the host Emerald that gives or neutralizes the power of all of the Chaos Emeralds, and the object that Knuckles had been charged to protect with his life for all of his life. But while they were busy fighting, Eggman took the Master Emerald, thus making Knuckles see that Sonic was innocent. They defeated the Eggman after this, though, and the two became rivals/reluctant friends of sorts. Their friendship will grow as time goes on.

So, we’ve met Tails and Knuckles, two key characters in Sonic’s life. There’s also Amy, a girl who’s rather obsessed with him. She spends her free time either training for or actually chasing after the hedgehog, wanting them to get married and live in a big house with a white picket fence and have lots and lots of kids. Sonic, of course, does not want that. He values his freedom and doesn’t seem to be interested in wanting a relationship, especially with Amy. He cares for her as a friend, but nothing more. So, when she chases him, he RUNS.

Sonic himself spends his free time running. That’s the thing he loves to do the most. Running, racing, outrunning others, adventuring, and saving the world from Dr. Eggman. He insists that he does the latter only because he likes to foil the evil doctor’s plans, but deep inside, he really does have the desire to bring peace to the world and the people within it. We’re going to go on with one such adventure, one that was during the SA2 game.

Being blamed by GUN (Guardian Units of Nations) for someone’s crime of stealing a Chaos Emerald, Sonic was captured and being transported to the prison on a remote island across the ocean. But they couldn’t hold him in the helicopter for long~ And so, Sonic busted out of his confinement, knocked everyone except the pilot out, and then jumped out of the plane, escaping from GUN by running through the city (and “following his rainbow”. Harharhar.). At the end of his trek (in which he even got chased by an oversized GUN diesel truck), he’s confronted by a large robot belonging to GUN with the codename F – 6t Bigfoot. Sonic has no fear of it, though, and he manages to beat it down easily.

After the fight, he stops for a breather, but it seems he doesn’t have time to do so. On top of the wrecked robot stands the black and red hedgehog who caused all of this in the first place, Shadow. Apparently, the military mistook Shadow for Sonic (though I don’t know how that’s possible. People keep saying Shadow looks like Sonic, but really, they’re completely different :/), and while Shadow got away, Sonic was blamed for his actions. Once Sonic figured that out, he grows enraged and charges at Shadow, demanding to know what he’s going to do with that Chaos Emerald. Things didn’t go as Sonic planned, though, for Shadow used a special warping maneuver called the Chaos Control to speed past Sonic and to the top of another building. Sonic thinks it’s his speed at first, but then quickly realizes that he’s using the power of the Chaos Emerald to warp. Shadow introduces himself, and then warps away, leaving Sonic to be taken away by GUN, who had finally caught up to him.

Sonic is then taken to a prison with high security, and it just so happens that he’s in the same cell that Dr. Gerald Robotnik was held in, though this was never revealed in the game (just something you figure out later). He’s quite annoyed by this and impatiently waits for something to happen, pacing and tapping his foot. It’s then that Amy (somehow) busts into the prison with Tails’ help, and after a brief talk which includes Amy once again asking Sonic to marry her and then giving information about Shadow, Sonic runs off, leaving Amy behind. He speeds on out of the base and ends up landing in a large forest, where he meets up with Shadow again. The two have a little fight with no real winner, both ending up just panting and staring each other down when Shadow’s communicator beeps. It’s Eggman, and he tells Shadow that he only has eight minutes before the island blows up. Shadow runs off, and Sonic tells himself that he has to find Amy and Tails and escape, and then runs off as well.

He manages to do what he’s told himself, and the trio managed to fly away on Tails’ plane before they’re fried from the explosion. They make it back to Station Square, all the while avoiding GUN, for now they’re escaped fugitives (or Deserters, I guess). That night, Eggman makes an announcement across the world via those big television thingies, saying that he’ll soon be the world’s greatest ruler, and that this will be the beginning of a new empire. Then he fires off the Eclipse Cannon at the moon, destroying half of it and causing fire to appear in the core. While everyone’s staring at the damage that was done, a timer appears on the screen that says 24:00:00:00 and counts down the time that they’ll fire the cannon at Earth.

Sonic, Tails and Amy saw that as well. Sonic figures out that the Eclipse Cannon works with the Chaos Emeralds, and that’s why they needed them in the first place. It’s then that Tails reveals that he has a Chaos Emerald and that they all act like magnets to each other, so he can easily find out where Eggman is with that. Before they can plan any further, though, the police catch up with them, telling them to freeze and put their hands up. Like they’d listen. |D Sonic tells Tails to find out where Eggman is while he deals with the police, and the two run off, once again leaving Amy behind.

It takes Tails a while to figure out where Eggman is while Sonic distracts the police (we never see how he does it, but we can assume he pretty much just ran circles around them). After a while, Tails concluded that Eggman might have taken the Chaos Emeralds to outer space, and the only way they could pinpoint the location there is if they used the equipment that the president had. So, the two agreed to meet with the president, leaving Amy (and Knuckles as well) behind once again.

Once they catch up to the president, they use his equipment to find out that the Chaos Emeralds are located on the ARK. So, of course, they need a space ship to get up there. They figure out that there’s one in the desert inside a pyramid of sorts. I guess it’s secretly a NASA headquarters area? Anyway, Sonic and his friends decide to infiltrate the base and board the space ship, especially since Knuckles and Amy said they saw Eggman, Shadow and Rouge go in the pyramid as well. Sonic leads the way, getting rid of traps and other obstacles that would stand in everyone’s way, but then they come across a large door that needs three keys. It’s up to Knuckles to find the keys and open the door, and I bet Sonic waited quite impatiently for that.

Finally, when Knuckles returned and opened the door, he appeared to be exhausted from a fight. So, when the Eggman appeared, Sonic told everyone to go on ahead, mostly to protect the worn out Knuckles (or so the guide says. <3). Unexpectedly, Eggman launched a weapon called the Egg Golem, a giant, pharaoh looking statue controlled by the Eggman. Sonic was surprised only at first, and then valiantly fought with it. It was a hard battle (easy to me, but I guess it’d be hard for him |D;;), but he managed to defeat it, and then ran onboard the space ship just in time before it launched.

While in space, the back hatch, where Knuckles had stuffed all of his shards of the Master Emerald, opened. Sonic wasn’t all that worried, but Knuckles panicked and took control of the switch, which made everyone else panic. They managed to land on the ARK safely, though Knuckles ditched them to find his Master Emerald again. Sonic, Tails and Amy plan on what to do, and Tails tells them that the Eclipse Cannon in impenetrable to outside attacks, so he whips out a fake Chaos Emerald telling them that they should switch the real Chaos Emerald with that one. That’s Sonic’s job. So, he takes the Emerald and runs to the control room.

But it doesn’t quite work out as planned. Once he gets there and Tails destroys the power supply, he’s about to tell Sonic to replace the real emerald with the fake one, but Eggman interrupts the communication, telling Tails to tell Sonic to meet up with them again. The last thing Sonic hears is Tails saying “Amy is…”, and then nothing. So, of course, he rushes to where they were supposed to meet… I forget exactly where it was. He opens the door to find Eggman with a gun to Amy’s head and Tails helplessly watching from close by. He and Tails nod at each other, silently agreeing to hand over the fake Chaos Emerald. Sonic confidently walks forward to hand the Chaos Emerald over, but then Eggman unleashes his trap. He slams a space capsule around Sonic, trapping the hedgehog and the fake emerald.

…I’m gonna rush ‘cause I’m tired of this. XD Sonic gets blasted out in space with the fake Chaos Emerald, and Sonic remembers that Tails told him that the fake Chaos Emerald has all of the same properties, it’s just weaker. Thinking of that, Sonic is able to use the Chaos Control to warp himself out of the capsule before it explodes. He warps right in front of Knuckles, who helps him regain his strength. Sonic is more worried about Tails and Amy, though, so he asks Knuckles to go to him while he runs to the control room to slam dunk the fake Chaos Emerald in there. Knuckles holds out a hand to stop him, but Sonic runs off before he can do anything. He makes it to the long strip before the control room, only to be confronted by Shadow. The black hedgehog seems impressed by Sonic making it back, which gets him the reply “I die hard.”. Then he goes on to say that Shadow was the one who saved him, holding out the fake Chaos Emerald to silently explain everything. Shadow sorta kinda compliments him in his own way again, and then the two start to run, quietly agreeing to race and battle it out to the control room.

The battle is a tough one. The two seem to be equally matched: same speed, same level of attack, and now Sonic knows the Chaos Control, a technique which the two spam a lot, for the bridge keeps collapsing from under their feet. Sonic manages to defeat Shadow, though, and he makes it to the control room to swap one of the real Chaos Emeralds with the fake one. The Cannon backfires on itself, and Sonic gives a thumbs up to Tails and Amy, letting them know that he’s alive.

But something goes wrong. Because of the force of the explosion, the colony is approaching the earth at an incredible velocity, and it probably wouldn’t take it long for it to hit the earth. Sonic hears about this from Rouge when he comes back to the main room with Knuckles, and after they hear this, a video of Dr. Gerald Robotnik appears in front of them. Apparently, he planned this all along. He’s shown on every TV across the world, being shown chained to a chair in the prison cell that Sonic was held in earlier. He tells every that the ARK will hit the earth in approximately thirty minutes, and then Earth and everyone on it will be destroyed. Like Shadow, he wanted revenge for the ungrateful humans who took everything away from him. They figure out that it’s the energy of the Chaos Emeralds that makes it unstable, and that Knuckles, with the Master Emerald, could stop it. But the only way they can get to the ARK’s core is if they all work together. Sonic tells them not to worry, that he’s the world’s fastest hedgehog.

So, of course, Sonic gets to the core along with Knuckles. Before they can get to the Chaos Emeralds, though, Gerald’s image appears all over the room, and the final boss, the BioLizard, teleports to the center of the room and lets out a menacing screech. Fighting it would waste a lot of time for Sonic and Knuckles, but fortunately, Shadow, who had remembered his true promise to Maria, walks past them and tells them to leave the BioLizard to him while they take care of the Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic and Knuckles make it there, and Knuckles manages to stop the Chaos Emeralds… but the BioLizard uses the Chaos Control to warp and become one with the ship, determined to keep it on its crash course. Sonic and Shadow look at each other and seem to know what to do simply from that. Together, the two use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to transform into their super form, then fly outside to fight the BioLizard.

The two work together, alternating when their power is low, to destroy the BioLizard. They defeat it, but the ARK’s in the atmosphere now. So the two charge at the ARK, and at the right moment, they use the Chaos Control to warp it away from the Earth and back to its original spot. Shadow, having worn out his super form, changes back to normal and falls through the atmosphere, supposedly dying (harharhar.). Sonic, though, gets back to the ARK, silently telling everyone the sacrifice that Shadow made. Everyone mourns in their own way, but then pull themselves together and go back to the Earth. Before Sonic leaves, though, he turns to look at the Earth and whispers, “Sayonara… Shadow the Hedgehog.”.

Which ends Sonic Adventure 2. A few months later, Sonic is running through the canyon and enjoying himself, when Tails and Knuckles fly down from a plane, telling Sonic that the Eggman’s sent them a letter. Sonic grabs it and reads the automated message, which is the Eggman telling them that he’s made the ultimate weapon and will conquer the world in three days. Sonic comments that it sounds more like an invitation to a party than anything, and then Tails and Knuckles jump out of the plane to accompany Sonic, running with him to go and defeat the Eggman.

It’s while Sonic’s running with his friends that he’s transported to Avoria~ |D

Sonic’s personality is quite different than my other characters. |D He’s arrogant, childish, loud and brash, but still has a good heart deep inside. He tends to not take anything seriously, even if they NEED to be so, but he does come through at times like that. He generally always has a smile on his face, for he looks on the bright side all the time. He goes with what he believes in, doing what he thinks is right (which usually is) and enjoys helping others. Because of this, he’s quite social and is friends with even the most antisocial of people. He’s quite prideful of his speed, though, and lets others know it. This comes off as annoying and cocky, but hey, he has reason to be boastful.

Unfortunately, Avoria will take away a lot of the speed he loves so much. He’ll still be super fast (way faster than a gold medal Olympic racer), but not like… faster than a race car. Also, the powers that he gained will mostly be taken away. As a hedgehog, he’ll still be able to curl into a ball and dash super fast that way, and even use the homing attack, but won’t be able to use the light speed dash or anything like that. No reason to, anyway. No rings. |D And he can’t use the powers of the Chaos Emeralds since they’re not there either~
